DAF Flotation-Dissolved Air Flotation

DAF flotation (Dissolved Air Flotation) serves as a separator of water and suspended matter by bringing the suspended particles to the surface of the water.
Dissolved Air Flotation successfully separates solids from liquid by introducing air into the industrial wastewater treatment plant from the bottom of the tank. This causes light solids and fats to rise to the surface, forming a dense sludge layer.

The efficiency of a DAF system can be significantly improved by adding polymers and other flocculants. In general, DAF efficiency in removing BOD and COD ranges from 30% to 90% and 70% to 80%, respectively.
In addition, DAF removes suspended solids from wastewater in the range of 38% to 70%, and eliminates fats in the range of 63% to 95%.
